The TranScreen is made up of a very thin layer of rear projection material that is then applied onto clear acrylic sheet. This gives it structural strength while retaining transparency. It has the advantage over holographic screens in that it has a wide viewing angle of some 160° and the projector does not have to be placed at a specific angle (22° to 35° off axis is suggested). Also, the images are not structured like with other holographic screens and the price is also much lower. The disadvantages are that it has lower transparence when not projected on and the image brightness will be diminished by ambient light. The overall effect is futuristic and etheral.
