Gas Plasma Displays / TVs

BEYOND PLASMA? HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAYS

Where a large and light screen is required, these displays are the ideal choice. You may have seen them in the background of many news-based television programmes, stock exchanges and at airports where they are becoming increasingly popular. Available in sizes up to 61 inches diagonal, these displays are considerably lighter and thinner than normal cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors would be. This means that they can be wall mounted or hung from a ceiling. The wide viewing angle and high brightness allows many people to view the display at the same time and makes them perfect as information boards and in presentations.

The truly flat design gives a picture that is distortion free. Each cell in the display is digitally controlled so no focussing or convergence problems can occur as in CRT monitors. Electromagnetic interference also presents no problem and these displays can be used in high electrical energy environments (near railways, industrial power units, etc.) without the need for any additional shielding.

Inputs can be from PCs, Macs, DVD, video, laser disc, etc.

We have a range of displays that covers most budgets and sizes.

CAN A PLASMA DISPLAY BE USED AS A TV?

Yes, plasma displays can be used as televisions by connecting a device that can receive TV signals, such as a satellite receiver, cable TV box, ordinary video recorder, etc. The device you connect would become the TV tuner and can be used to change between channels. Just remember that you need to have compatible connectors (S-video, component and composite are available on most displays), and that you need to make provision for sound by connecting the 'audio out' from your tuner to your speakers. For the very best system, you could add an A/V amplifier to take advantage of surround and fly-over sound effects.
If this sounds like too much trouble, then consider a model that has been built as a television and comes complete with tuner and speakers. We have some of the most advanced and desirable models around a
nd the range is growing all the time.
