Compared to standard cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors, these displays take up a fraction of the desk space, generate no heat, emit no X-rays, weigh considerably less and are not susceptible to any of the geometrical distortions associated with CRT monitors. The image is free of Moiré distortions, misconvergence, and is flicker free (a great advantage if the picture on the monitor is to be recorded by video/TV cameras). In an office, they would probably use less power than the light bulb illuminating that room.

Remember, with LCD monitors, the size gives a true representation of the viewable screen. Thus, an 18.1 inch monitor has a true visible diagonal of 18.1 inches and this makes the screen area comparable to 19 and 20 inch CRT monitors.

Just like most monitors, these are designed to accept data signals, that is, from computers.
