| Contrast Foil
is a 1mm thick screen that is applied directly to a glass surface. It is dark grey and almost black in colour - a total contrast to what you would expect of a rear projection screen. The reason for this is to eliminate the greyish colours that most projectors produce when trying to create black. The result is a screen suitable for images and video containing dark areas that require the better contrast offered by this technology. It can also be used for special applications such as simulators where curved screens are required.
Installation is a snip - self adhesive magnetic strips are stuck to the edges of the foil and similar strips are stuck to your glass surface. The screen is simply held to the glass by magnetism. The dark colour of the strips blends nicely with the foil. This method is really only suitable for sizes up to 67". Anything larger should use the hard version - Contrast Screen. |
